Police on manhunt to arrest suspects who attacked Coach Maxwell Konadu

The attack on Maxwell Konadu on Sunday has prompted the Ghana Police Service to declare that they are looking for the attackers.

The 2023–24 Ghana Premier League match saw Bofoakwa Tano and Nsoatreman FC share the spoils, and following the match, the home crowd attacked the former head coach of Asante Kotoko.

After being assaulted by the supporters, the former Black Stars coach lost consciousness.

Shortly after the attack, Konadu was taken to the Sunyani Regional Hospital for emergency care.

The home fans also attacked a few players as well as their supporters. Attacks were also made on match officials.

To apprehend the culprits, the Ghana Police Service has acknowledged that they are conducting a manhunt.

Bofoakwa Tano’s home field, Sunyani Coronation Park, has been prohibited, according to confirmation from the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Executive Council.

For Bofoakwa Tano, results have not yet materialized. They have only triumphed once in the previous eight league games.

With 20 points from 11 games, Maxwell Konadu’s team is still in second place, one point behind leaders Aduana FC, who fell to Karela United 2-1 on Saturday, thanks to the draw.

Bofoakwa Tano, meanwhile, are struggling for victories following their strong start and are currently fifth in the league table with 16 points.
