Neymar’s four-month absence is a major setback for PSG.

The Brazilian forward’s season appears to be over because of an ankle injury, which could keep him out of action for up to four months. Neymar suffered an injury on February 19 while playing Lille. The club initially stated that he had not broken any bones, but on Tuesday, it was revealed that he needs surgery to repair ligament damage.
This is Neymar’s fourth ankle injury in four years, and he has only once appeared in more than 20 games for the league in a single season since 2017. Neymar was having one of his best seasons at PSG this year, scoring 18 goals and providing 14 assists across all competitions. However, the injury may mean that he has played his final game for the club.

In a statement, PSG confirmed that surgery will be performed in Doha and that a recovery period of three to four months is anticipated. If PSG want to make a profit off of Neymar, a summer transfer may be necessary because the Brazilian star’s contract is set to expire in 2025.
