I married my husband, that’s why I’m the only one who can end it — Xandy Kamel

TV personality and actress Xandy Kamel has opened up about the problems in her contentious marriage and the factors that ultimately led to its breakup.

These specifics were disclosed by Kamel in an interview for the weekly Delay show segment.

The actress recalled how, while working and hosting a show at Angel TV, she first met her now ex-husband, Kaninja.

Even though she did not pay much attention to him at first, their relationship quickly changed.

“He was already a staff member there when I started working there, but funny enough, I never even looked his way, but it happened. It took two months,” Kamel revealed.

The ‘love’ that Kamel and Kaninja shared progressed more quickly; four or six months into their relationship, they were talking about getting married.

Kamel revealed that she played a major financial role in the wedding, paying for over half of the costs, which included buying the rings, the husband’s suit, and other miscellaneous expenses.

“I made one of my uncles purchase the wedding and send it to Ghana on his behalf after purchasing both rings. It seems as though I married him now.

Because of this, I am the only one who can put an end to it. I made it appear as though I did everything, but I married him because I did everything,” Kamel said. “He just entered as a man I respected.

The actress did, however, continue to disclose that there were issues in the marriage, such as her ex-husband’s adultery.

She revealed that she fell into a depressive state after learning of multiple instances of cheating, in addition to cyberbullying and body-shaming.

Her first child drowned, which tragically added to the already dire situation.

Kamel revealed that she sought therapy and support to deal with the traumatic events.
