Following the economic and social crises the country faces,I am of the view that the government improves upon the social and economic security of the country.
We face crises as a state.Everyone is and must be concerned and worried. The security of citizens including those at the borders should be of utmost importance to the government. Strict measures should be put in place to protect citizens at all cost.
Areas such as the borders should have a strong security base by providing the necessary and required gadgets needed for such a purpose; installation of surveillance gadgets, handheld detectors and under vehicle mirror security scanners even within our check points. These gadgets and equipments should be available to all the security services within the country, especially to those at the borders, the Immigration, Police and Customs.
Security on the water bodies should also be of great importance. The Ghana Navy must also be supplied with every necessary resource for effective and easy deployment of troops to secure such areas. The provision of speed boats, landing craft and drones to monitor activities on water bodies is very essential. This is very necessary in the fight against illegal mining and robbery at the high seas.
The economic security should also be as important as the security of the citizens in the state. The economic threat we face is real. Citizens are not secured and content a result of the economic state of this country. We are all threatened due to the rising economic challenges and its corresponding debt exchange.
Building a strong system to enhance surveillance for the security services is very crucial as well as a system that enables easy access of information among all the security services. Not forgetting a: system that can adequately match the economic crises we face.
