Daniel Amartey to miss Ghana’s game against Comoros after late failed test

Due to an injury, Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey will not play against Comoros on Tuesday in the 2026 World Cup qualifying match.

In the opening game of Ghana’s 1-0 victory over Madagascar last Friday at Baba Yara Stadium, Amartey was forced off due to an injury.

Kasim Nuhu took the 29-year-old’s place as a replacement.

However, Amartey went to Moroni with the team for the second Group I match; however, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced that following a test, the former Leicester City defender will not be available for selection.

Even though an MRI scan did not show any evident injuries, the Black Stars’ medical staff plans to keep Amartey out of the Comoros match.

In preparation for the match tomorrow, the Black Stars are anticipated to hold their final practice later today.

The Black Stars are aiming to win consecutive games when the match is set to begin at 16:00 GMT.
